A new fine dining experience at Yugen.
There’s a new fine dining experience in Chicago’s West Side, but its not the upscale fare you might be imagining. Yugen serves contemporary Japanese cuisine, the result of a fusion of Executive Chef Mari Katsumura’s Asian heritage and French culinary training.
Look for small plates of perfectly balanced ingredients, like scallop tartare with chili and sesame, or yakitori with miso caramel. The full menu features a few select dishes per season, along with a daily feature. You can also enjoy Yugen’s tasting menu, which is a splurge at $205 per person, but a true fine dining experience that you won't soon forget. The winter selection includes about 10 small plates, from seafood like ora king salmon and grilled octopus, to dry-aged lamb and duck. Each plate is a symphony of flavors and textures, and feature combinations that are modern and inventive.
Yugen is open Tuesday through Saturday, and accepts reservation from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Private dining and event space is also available for a one-of-a-kind culinary experience.
