A new space for bookworms!
It’s going to be a long winter without plenty of good reading material and other resources from the Harold Washington Library Center. This institution is the main branch of the Chicago Public Library, and it has loads of free and informative assets for your enjoyment. In addition to utilizing the library’s lending service (why would you ever need to buy a book?), the Harold Washington Library Center has Wi-Fi, book clubs, genealogy databases, and much more. The spacious library has original artwork throughout, plus an outdoor winter garden on the ninth floor. After months of staying at home and cold weather for the foreseeable future, it’s nice to have a place you can visit that’s both safe and fun for the whole family.
Several areas, including the Maker Lab and music rooms, are currently closed due to the pandemic. But the Harold Washington Library Center is still there for you to make the current health crisis a bit more bearable.
