Enjoy the freshly pulled noodles at Shang Noodle

Shang Noodle’s name highlights its main attraction: the freshly pulled noodles. Although it only recently opened in Streeterville, the eatery is already starting to generate some buzz thanks to its authentic homemade Chinese food. That includes, of course, the noodle-centric soups and platters.

If you like spicy food, order the jjamppong noodle soup. The ribbons of pasta swim in a spicy broth with shredded pork, shrimp, cuttlefish, and a mix of fresh veggies. Prefer stir-fry? The house noodle platter features the same ingredients, but pan-seared without the broth. If you’d like to try the noodles without the extra heat, opt for the mild jja-jang-meyon, a mix of pork and shrimp tossed with veggies and Korean black bean sauce, then piled atop a bed of tender noodles. In addition to the noodles, Shang Noodle also offers a wide array of classic Chinese platters with steamed rice, ranging from walnut shrimp to Kung Pao chicken. Complement your meal with a Hitachino Nest While Ale or Yuzu Lager imported from Japan, or try one of the signature craft cocktails like the lychee martini or Shanghai Mule.
