An ice cream store which offers eclectic and unexpected options.
Purple yam and Oreo. Lavender and rose water. Lychee and boba. Kurimu’s ice cream flavors are far from standard. Inspired by Asian ingredients, the ever-changing list of soft serve options is eclectic and unexpected. Even the cones, which come in flavors like matcha and lavender, are something special.
Since the new outpost of Kurimu opened in Wicker Park, its offbeat sweets have been generating buzz from a delighted crowd of local foodies. They say it’s totally worth the small extra fee to upgrade to a specialty cone for your Matcha Matcha, pandan, or black sesame ice cream. Feel free to order a swirl of two flavors if you just can’t decide between options like Very Avocado or Chocolate Supreme. In addition to ice cream, Kurimu also serves bubble tea and iced coffee. Try the classic boba milk tea, featuring black coffee and cream, for a jolt of caffeine in the morning, or sip on the black sugar boba latte for sweet midday pick-me-up. The bold Dalgona coffee comes with milk tea or black sugar (but you can also skip the extras), as well as any add-ins you like. Feeling extra adventurous? Try some of the sweet cheese foam atop your iced milk tea.
