Thanksgiving morning, just as it has for more than 40 years with plenty of space for runners, joggers, and walkers to spread out, Turkey Trot Chicago has received the green light to return for 2021.

With Thanksgiving on the horizon, you may be thinking about how you’re going to pay it forward this year. The Greater Chicago Food Depository does so on a daily basis. It’s a food bank that’s at the heart of more than 700 partner organizations, including soup kitchens and shelters. Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, it’s been serving 120% more people than usual. And it’s the beneficiary of proceeds from Turkey Trot Chicago, set to unfold in Lincoln Park on Thanksgiving morning, just as it has for more than 40 years.
With plenty of space for runners, joggers, and walkers to spread out, Turkey Trot Chicago has received the green light to return for 2021. Register for the traditional 5K, challenge yourself to complete the 8K, or join families and little ones for the one-mile Plymouth Rock Ramble fun run. Before or after your chosen race, check out the Turkey Day Tailgate! It promises free-flowing warm apple cider, corn hole, and turkey bowling, to name just a few of its fun aspects. Then head off to enjoy your feast with family or friends!
